People Under The Stairs - Carried Away 2009

Hi I am back :)

Check this release from Hip Hop duo, their seventh album overall. Fans of PUTS know that, unlike other Hip Hop/Rap artists, there are no outside producers or of-the-moment guest emcees. People Under The Stairs are a completely true independent Hip Hop act. Beats, rhymes, scratching, and chorus are all done by PUTS' members Thes One and Double K themselves. Very good job :)

JAHAH - Reverse mp3

It´s a long time when I was in musical heaven with some track. But JAHAH with song "Reverse" kick me much higher :) I love it !!!

Atlanta songwriter/producer/lyricist/singer JAHAH is the definition of authentic soul music that reflects the magnetic era of the 70's and the preeminence of contemporary hip-hop. His music pulsates with hard hitting drumbeats and intoxicating melodies :)

From the roots of hip-hop and jazz, to the wonder years of rhythm and blues, JAHAH (a.k.a. Mama's Only Son) is a unique talent of honest soul and organic hip-hop. His influences range from musical icons such as Bob Marley, The Crusaders, Michael Jackson, Prince, Barry White, Al Green, Run-DMC, and Big Daddy Kane to contemporary artist like D´Angelo, Musiq Soulchild, Common, The Roots and Little Brother. JAHAH's music is a gumbo with incredible flavor. JAHAH is our modern day Marvin Gaye :)

"I grew up listening to funk, R&B, and a taste of jazz,"
explains JAHAH. "By the age of twelve I was into many different genres of music especially hip-hop."

Ghostface Killah - Ghostdini Wizard Of Poetry In Emerald City (2009)

Something for Hip hop lovers -Ghostface Killah returns !

With this album coming out hot, you’d be a fool to still be huddled in the “Hip Hop is Dead” Trojan horse :) Hip hop is not dead, but u must have desire to change it or to try find good albums or to give support to little-known underrated artist...

Def Jam artist and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostdini returns with THE WIZARD OF POETRY, his 6th Def Jam album. Album includes collaborating with John Legend, Raheem, Estelle, Lloyd, Fabolous, Raheem DeVaughn and Musiq Soulchild and more on tracks.

Premiere has his controversial videoclip "Stapleton Sex" full of sex, latex and half naked women...If you´re adult, click on youtube. It´s parental advisory: explicit lyrics song. Huh :)))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-f_DN8J4RE

This album is mix of hip hop and RnB with very good beats mostly for chicks I think cause of relationship theme :) My favourite tracks are "Guest House" feat. Fabolous (I love the sample!!!) and "Let´s stop playin´ " feat. John Legend.

Ghost is timeless. He defies age, trends, and gimmicks. Pure hip hop since the first day he spit on the mike :)))

Ghostface, June 2009: “I don’t sell crack, yo. I ain’t movin’ no bricks or none of that other shit. I ain’t shoot nobody in like…since the early 90’s, man. How long you gonna be 40 years old and actin’ like you still sellin’ cracks and you on the block and you doin’ this and you doin’ that when times is more serious, man. We in a fuckin’ recession, B! Ain’t nobody gettin’ no money, man!”

Tiye Phoenix - Half Woman, Half Amazin´ (2009)

For Hip Hop lovers ! Good hip hop is back....
If you have been waiting for a powerful, balanced female voice in hip hop, she's right here :)

There are another female Mc´ s in the game, but they don´t have good voice, meaningful lyrics and ill beats :) And she has all this in storage...She is an amazingly talented Mc. She was member of the supergroup Polyrhythm Addicts (now it´s Apani B)
, comes with her solo debut “Half Woman Half Amazin” .

With production from DJ Scratch, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Da Beatminerz, DJ Spinna, Apathy & more and guest appearances from Phonte (Little Brother), Chip Fu & others, Tiye is ready to take over the game as the dominant female artist in hip-hop.

She´s female producer, MC, singer and songwriter in hip-hop.
As a beat-maker/producer, Tiye won the 2006 MTP (Meet The Producers) All-Female Beat Battle Invitational.

Classically trained in Piano since she was seven years-old, Tiye Phoenix has always been musically, creatively and artistically inclined. In the late 90’s, Tiye was a part of S.O.U.L. Food Symphony, a DC based group that performed with artists like, Nas, Gill Scot Heron & more. During the "Golden Years" of hip-hop, Tiye was a member of the Rawkus family, collaborating with Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek & many more. Tiye also worked with fellow Rawkus artists DJ Spinna, Shabaam Sahdeeq and Mr. Complex as part of the super group The Polyrhythm Addicts.

Avani - The Real Thing (2004)

Now I want to share album of one "sista" - excellent singer. Avani has been very clever in as much as she has managed to bridge the gap between the Soul purist and the fan of the R&B sound. I can hear this album everyday :)

Managed by the ex
Loose Ends manager Tony Hall, along with the excellent Rahsaan Patterson on the remake of that groups old song "Watching You". What a great remake. Better than the original. My other favourites here are the melodic "Something On My Mind" ( check it on player ) and "2 Luv U". A nice release.

AVANI first began singing in her teens with a local South London band, but after a couple of years the band broke up. During the band's short career one of the people who had seen them and been impressed by her vocal ability and stage presence was legendary UK manager Tony Hall. When Avani, walked back into Tony's office and played him some of her newly written solo material, he was convinced he had found one more extraordinary new artist to add to the UK urban roll of honour :) Guest vocals of RAHSAAN PATTERSON and Loose Ends' own CARL McINTOSH.

Listen to "Something on My Mind" :)

Slakah The Beatchild - Soul Movement Vol.1 (2009)

When I heard SLAKAH THE BEATCHILD for first time I know I must have this album :)

What do you get when you mix the flavor of Raphael Saadiq with the musical genius of J-Dilla, then throw it in a pot and season it with a little Stevie Wonder & Quincy Jones ? A glimps into the soulful fresh style & sounds of Slakah the Beatchild. The rest cannot be described in words, only through sound :)

One of the best R&B/Soul album I have heard in a while. This is album needs to be in any R&B/Soul Music fan collection. There’s clear evidence Canada is producing quality music. Any fan of that Raphael Saadiq, Dwele, Dilla, Slum Village sound will agree… this is good music.

Recording artist/producer Slakah the Beatchild's music is often described as a breath of fresh air. Soulful chords, warm harmonies & intricate progressions are the root of this unique feel good sound. On a quest to provide quality vibes to the world, Slakah the Beatchild presents Soul Movement vol I, a brilliant collection of instrumentals, collaborations & solo masterpieces. At 20 cuts deep, one listen will have true die-hard fans of soul hiphop, pleasantly lost in a musical daydream. Guest features include Divine Brown, Shad, Ayah, Drake, Melanie Durrant & more!

Why the name Beatchild? :)

..."when I was young and couldn’t walk my mom would sit me on the washing machine and it was this ghetto washing machine. On the spin cycle it would make a noise like a slow steady rhythm and to me that was music and I would dance to that as my mom did the laundry. My mom saw that I was actually moving on rhythm to the music so she was like, ‘Wow, this kid has rhythm! I’m gonna call him The Beatchild.’

Anthony Hamilton - XTC (1996)

Hi people, for this saturday I choose album XTC from Anthony Hamilton, which is one of my favourite album from my collection because there is not bad song :)

A soul singer getting his start at age ten singing in his church choir, the Charlotte, NC, native also performed as a teenager at various nightclubs and talent shows. Always with an eye to move on to bigger things, Hamilton made the move to New York City in 1993, eventually signing with Uptown Records, epicenter for the new jack swing sound and home to artists such as Jodeci and Mary J. Blige.

A wonderfully talented artist who is blessed with a voice that is reminiscent of the '70s soul scene, Anthony Hamilton arrived in 1996 with an absolutely stunning debut set, XTC. The album is so consistent that there is not a single album-filler, with every track being as good as the previous. Anthony Hamilton's voice glides over each track beautifully, in a style comparable to Stevie Wonder and Teddy Pendergrass. The album demonstrates a superb fusion of '70s soul and '90s R&B. Crackling breaks, wonderfully clean backing vocals, and infectious choruses supply Hamilton with the perfect backdrop on which to display his unique vocal ability. The standout tracks would have to be "You're My Type of Woman," the duet with partner Terri Robinson, "I Will Go," and the lead single, "Nobody Else." This debut set is astonishing and comfortably fits into the bracket of a nu classic soul masterpiece.
