Why the name Beatchild? :)

..."when I was young and couldn’t walk my mom would sit me on the washing machine and it was this ghetto washing machine. On the spin cycle it would make a noise like a slow steady rhythm and to me that was music and I would dance to that as my mom did the laundry. My mom saw that I was actually moving on rhythm to the music so she was like, ‘Wow, this kid has rhythm! I’m gonna call him The Beatchild.’”

N´Dambi - Pink Elephant 2009

Autumn just began but imagine: you're soaking in a fragrant bath of milk and honey, sipping from a glass of sweet tea and you´re listening to good music...I bring to u some music from my collection. So come on and take a relax bath :)

Yesterday great soul singer N´dambi release new album named PINK ELEPHANT...

N´dambi comes from Dallas. She began to perform and play the piano at a young age. But it was her close association with neo-soul trailblazer Erykah Badu that first brought her to the attention of the music world. She appeared as a background vocalist on Badu's seminal debut album Baduizm and co-wrote " HeySugah" from Badu's Mama's Gun.

N'dambi then went from backing singer to indie soul trailblazer, self-releasing her debut album, Little Girl Blues in 1999, and selling over 70,000 units -I think an incredible number for an independent album. She followed it with the successful Tunin Up & Cosignin, an eclectic album that mixed up genres. I love the song "What´s wrong with you" and I have it like an alarm song for wake up in the morning :) N'dambi released her third album in Japan, 2005's A Weird Kinda Wonderful. Now on 6th October 2009 she´s back with album Pink Elephant.

N'dambi's official biography says that she "aims to make timeless music that lyrically endures the industry paradigm of one-hit commercial sensationalism. "
